What this is

A directory of suppliers and clinics working in this category, restricted to verifiable facts they are willing to disclose about sourcing, manufacture, regulatory position and provenance. Listings are paid. Every listing carries a paid label on every appearance. Listings are ordered alphabetically and are never ranked.

A listing is not an endorsement and not a recommendation. It cannot influence an evidence grade, cannot buy editorial coverage, and cannot buy silence. Those rules are set out in the rate card and they are not negotiable.

Why a directory of disclosures rather than a directory of products

Because the thing a purchaser most needs and least often gets in this market is process information, as we set out in why the cell source matters. Brand comparison compares marketing. Disclosure comparison compares something real.

So a listing is a fixed set of fields. A supplier answers them or declines. Where a field is declined, the listing records declined to disclose against that field. Declining is permitted and is published, which is the entire mechanism by which the directory carries information.

Material origin: Species, cell type and tissue of origin, or the nature of the material if not cell derived.
Cell bank basis: Single donor, pooled donors, or an immortalised line, and the passage window worked to.
Culture conditions: Whether serum is used and whether it is vesicle depleted.
Isolation method: The separation methods used, named, in order.
Characterisation: Which measurements are performed on each batch, and whether release criteria exist.
Purity measure: Whether a particle to protein ratio or equivalent purity indicator is published.
Sterility and endotoxin: How sterility is achieved and validated, and whether an endotoxin limit is published.
Storage and stability: Stated storage conditions, shelf life, and tolerated freeze and thaw cycles.
Regulatory position: The framework the supplier considers the product to fall under, and on what basis.
Adverse event route: How adverse events are reported and to whom.

This directory opened with the publication and no supplier or clinic has yet completed the disclosure schema. We publish that fact rather than filling the page with placeholder entries, because an empty directory that says it is empty is more informative than a populated one that has quietly relaxed its criteria. When entries appear, they will appear alphabetically, labelled paid, with every declined field marked as declined.

How a listing is verified

We verify that a disclosure is a disclosure: that the supplier has stated it, in writing, and is content for it to be published attributed to them. We do not verify that the statement is true, we cannot audit a manufacturing process, and we say so on every listing.

That may sound like a weak guarantee. It is the guarantee we can actually honour, and a published attributable statement is materially different from a marketing claim, because it can be checked by anyone who later obtains better information and it can be held against the supplier.

What a listing cannot buy

An evidence grade, or any influence over one.
Editorial coverage, mention in an article, or inclusion in a comparison.
Position, ordering, prominence, a badge, or a featured slot. Alphabetical is the only order.
Removal of a field marked as declined.
Removal or amendment of published editorial content.
Sight of an article before publication.

Clinics

Clinic listings work the same way and carry a reduced field set covering which product categories are used, the regulatory framework relied on for each route, practitioner registration bodies, and adverse event reporting arrangements. A clinic listing is not a review and contains no assessment of clinical practice, for the reasons in our editorial standards.

Complete it, decline whatever you wish to decline, and the listing publishes as submitted with declined fields marked. There is no editorial negotiation over a listing, because there is nothing to negotiate: it is your statement, published as your statement.

Is a listing an endorsement?

No. A listing is a set of disclosures the supplier has agreed to publish. It is not a recommendation, it is never ranked, and it cannot influence an evidence grade.

Can a supplier pay for a better position?

No. Listings are alphabetical and there is no premium position, featured slot, badge or ordering preference available at any price.

What happens if a supplier will not answer a field?

The listing records that they declined to disclose it. Declining is permitted and is published, and that is the mechanism by which the directory carries information.

Do you verify that the disclosures are true?
